Omaha Poker

Omaha Poker is just one of many versions of the game brought to you by Littlewoods Poker, the new poker room from the trusted name in gaming for 80 years.

Omaha Poker resembles Texas Holdem Poker in the fact that the game is played with five community cards. There are two variations of the game, Omaha High Only and Omaha High Low Split.

The rules of the game are fairly easy to learn and can be summarised as follows:

The Dealer

At least one player must be designated as the dealer in Omaha Poker. He or she will act last during betting rounds and a disk is used to identify the dealer. This disk is rotated to the left after each hand.

The Start

When starting a new Omaha Poker hand two "Blind" bets are "Posted". The player immediately to the left of the player with the dealer button puts up or "posts" the small blind which is approximately half the minimum bet. This sets the standard and the game progresses.

The Opening

Each player is now dealt four cards face down. The first betting round in Omaha Poker begins when the player to the left of the big blind either putting in two dollars to "Call" the blind bet, or putting in four dollars to "raise" the big blind or folding his hand.

The Turn

When the betting round is complete, the dealer turns a fourth card face up in the middle of the table. This is known as the "Turn." The minimum bet offered is now four dollars and betting begins again with the first active player to the left of the button.

The River

Following the betting round for the turn, the dealer will burn another card and turn a fifth and final card face up. This is called the "river," and the final betting round begins with four dollars being the minimum bet.

The Showdown

In Omaha Poker, the winner is determined as the players MUST use two of his or her hole cards and three cards from the "Board" to form the highest five-card hand.
